5 steps to

creating smokey eyes


The smokey eye is sultry and seductive but can be difficult to achieve. Follow these steps for a simple, wearable version of the elusive smokey eye.

step one

apply a mid-tone shade

Apply a shimmering, mid-tone, Colour Intense eye shadow, like Pewter, to the moving part of the eyelid.

applying and blending

Use the Eye Shadow brush, blend from lash line to socket line.

step three

apply a smokey shade

Next, use Colour Intense eye shadow, in Liquorice and apply to the outside corners of the eyes, sweeping along the lash-line and a little into the sockets. Sweep a little under the lower lashes, starting at the outside corner and moving inwards.

Apply Eye Line, in Coal inside the upper lash line. You may find this easier by lifting the chin while looking down into a mirror. Raise the eyebrows and pencil under the lashes, along the waterline. For a more dramatic, smokey look, apply to the lower line as well. Don’t forget to use the pull out sharpener if you need it.
