Our Principles
delilah is proud to be certified by PETA as a cruelty free brand, no animal testing is conducted or commissioned for any delilah products, neither do we sell in any markets that require animal testing.
Vegan Friendly
What Does "Vegan" Mean?
It means we value animals, and we believe in our planet.
It means our formulas, brushes and even our outer packaging doesn’t contain ANY animal-derived ingredients. It doesn’t need to.
In 2019, we decided we wanted to do better – not just for our customers, but for the world around us. Because of that, we began reformulating all of our products and are proud to say that by January 2021, delilah became 100% vegan.
Without ever sacrificing the quality and performance, we have been able to create long-wear, pigment-rich formulations, that are 100% Vegan, 100% Cruelty Free and 100% #EasytoLove. That means you look as good as you feel.
Here are some of the animal derived ingredients most commonly used in make-up and skin care. We PROMISE that you will never find any of these in your delilah products.

100% Cruelty Free
The best things in life are cruelty free
delilah has been cruelty free since the first iconic product was launched back in 2014. Since then, we have never tested on animals and never ask others to do so on our behalf. Our products are “people-tested”, which means that those who will actually be wearing them, are the ones who tell us they look great. Seems like a sensible idea, right?
Let’s be even clearer - we only sell our products in regions, channels and product categories that don’t require animal testing. We will not sell in certain countries where it’s legally required to test on animals, such as China, until those laws change.
delilah is certified by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) as Cruelty Free and Vegan. Our Cruelty Free PETA bunny logo is the only animal we wear, and we do it with pride.
Paraben Free
The Paraben Problem
Parabens, they are a problem. Why? Because most people aren’t really sure what they are or even what they do. Yet, they are in most beauty products. So, where does delilah fit into this murky conversation?
Firstly, lets explain what they are: Parabens are preservatives used to stop bacteria from growing in beauty products. Sounds like a good addition, doesn’t it? Well, a controversial study in 2017 suggested that sometimes parabens can mimic oestrogen in the body. Definitely a side-effect of lipstick we weren’t expecting.
For this reason, many people are now looking to avoid using products that contain these types of preservatives and the debate rages on over whether parabens are safe. Here at delilah the decision was simple, if we could formulate without them, why wouldn’t we? Better to be safe than sorry.
Dermatologically Tested
To give you peace of mind
Each and every one of our formulations has been independently evaluated to ensure they meet the highest standards for safety and efficacy.
These tests, that range from Dermatologist Testing and in some cases Stability, Clinical and Ophthalmological testing, are not mandatory for make-up and skin care products, but we have gone the extra mile to give you peace of mind.
FSC Certified
Forests, for all, forever
It’s not just our make-up that’s green: from our iconic cardboard packaging to the hand-crafted wooden handles of our vegan make-up brushes, delilah carries the FSC* “tick tree” logo with pride.
That means all our products are made with materials from well-managed forests, as well as recycled sources, helping to ensure our woodlands are alive for generations to come.
*The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is committed to promoting environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world's forests.
Looking to the Future
What"s next for delilah?
For us, the future looks bright, but it also looks green. We are constantly striving to do less harm by becoming more environmentally focused, in turn saving water, reducing waste and lowering greenhouse gas emissions in all of our product journeys - from sourcing ingredients to the end lifecycle.
We care for life below water and life on land and every product is now certified by PETA as both cruelty free and vegan. For us, that was a must.
Our packaging is moving towards being fully degradable and recyclable and we endeavour to source recyclable materials for our products as part of our climate action changes.
At delilah we are building partnerships with customers, suppliers and key stakeholders to ensure that everything we do will have less of an impact on the environment.
